BAIL ME OUT, JUDGE: LILLO

Former "Sopranos" actor Lillo Brancato wants out. Brancato's lawyer said yesterday he would appeal a Bronx judge's ruling denying bail to the accused cop killer. The actor has been sitting in a Rikers Island jail cell for 21/2 years and his murder case still doesn't look close to going to trial. "At least let him be home with his family," defense lawyer Joseph Tacopina said as he left court. Brancato has been in jail since December 2005, when he and friend Steven Armento were charged with murdering NYPD Officer Daniel Enchautegui, who was off duty when he tried to foil a burglary next door to his Bronx home. Brancato and Armento allegedly tried to break into a friend's apartment to get some prescription pills when Enchautegui confronted them. "He's not charged with possessing a weapon," Tacopina told Judge Steven Barrett. "He was shot that night. He didn't shoot anyone." Barrett called the bail application "fair."

I agree, let the guy out… He didn’t make the decision to pull the trigger, I think its BS that cops often jump behind a car that is trying to get away. I seen video of some scared kid that was stopped, put his car in reverse and hit the gas, the car couldn’t of been doing more than 5mph and the cop aimed and killed the kid, he had time to aim but didn’t have time to step out of the way? In the UK this is unheard of. Now you have Lillo who is a drug addict trying to get a fix for his addiction, and his partner shoots and kills a cop. I say let Lillo go and prosecute his father in law for the crime. 2 1/2 years is enough.
