The French Honor Clint Eastwood

They just made his day!

Clint Eastwood was bestowed a great honor from the French government today as he was made a commander in the prestigious French Legion of Honor. The Legion, which was established in 1802, recognizes individuals, French or otherwise, who have made major military, cultural, scientific or social contributions.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy warmly welcomed Clint and proceeded to step up his previous induction into the legion to a grade three on the legion's five-grade scale.

Though he spoke English, Clint thanked Sarkozy and the French people for the honor: "This is a wonderful honor. It is just a great pleasure for me. I really love France. I love movies, and I love the appreciation that the French people have for movies."

You would think the guy would learn a little French for the occasion! Maybe the old dog can't learn that trick.
